Who We Are . . .

Springdale Mennonite Church is a Christian congregation connected with Virginia Mennonite Conference and Mennonite Church USA.  But who are we?  What makes us tick?  Well, among other things, Springdale is a group that is Generous, Welcoming, and Caring.

The people of Springdale are generous in financial support of the church, but our generosity goes much deeper than that.  We are also generous with our time and in serving God, one another, and our community.  This generosity can be seen in our involvement with organizations such as WARM, Love INC, and MCC.  It is also experienced through meals prepared and delivered to those recovering from surgery or other health crises.

Anyone and everyone is welcome at Springdale, and we will do our best to make sure you experience that welcoming spirit any time you visit.  You don't have to believe what we do, come from a Mennonite family, dress in fancy clothes, or even be a follower of Christ to come join us.  Wherever you find yourself on your spiritual journey, we welcome you as a co-traveler.

 We make it our aim to care for one another and those around us through many of the ways mentioned in  the Bible.  We do our best to:

• "Encourage one another" (1 Thessalonians 5:11);
• "Rejoice with those who rejoice, [and] weep with those who weep" (Romans 12:15);
• "Bear one another's burdens" (Galatians 6:2); and
• "Love on another" (many verses throughout the Bible).
